all the addons stops working after a while they don't download at full quality of the pictures some only download videos or pictures but without stories any1 knows of a tool that works? it's funny that onlyfans is so easy to download and instagram changes it's code all the time to stop downloading
 
How ? using I haven't tried any other extension but they probably would work for posts on the main feed, I save them on mobile then go to my saves on pc and use the extension to download from there like

I have a feeling that is the maximum res unfortunately. "Intrinsic size refers to the natural size of an element, while rendered size is the size of an element as it appears on a webpage after it has been displayed" Right, for that API call. But what if there's another unknown/undocumented API call that retrieves a bigger image?

i use jdownloader an trivial way to download from from Instagram and more at the original quality step1 what will you need is jdownloader and an extension Cookie Editor jdownloader.org Simple yet powerful Cookie Editor that allow you to quickly create, edit and delete cookies without leaving your tab. chromewebstore.google.com step 2 add your instagram account to jdownloader using account manager using your username and your password will be the cookie from EditThisCookies you do it clicking the extention and clicking export itll copy your cookie and you paste it in the password field and click save and your account will be added. Note every so often youll have to re add the cookie for it to work step 3 change settings in jdownloader settings and plugins and youll see settings you can change copy the ones i have changed in the picture below and youre done Do not change any other settings step 4 downloading simply grab the URL to the profile or stroy or post. if jdownloader is open it usaully auto pastes the link you copied into LinkGrabber if not just right click and click paste links. if youre downloading a whole profile give it a few moments to grab everything and everything will be be ready depending on how many posts is on the persons instagram youll see by size or availability for example kimkardashian has over 17000 pictures and videos once the the size has stopped moving everything has been grabbed and you right click on the name and press start download and itll be in your downloads folder by default and these are the names of everything and youre done

Since I didn't actually see good quality posts, im sharing this. Downloading source quality images: There's no API call made, as far as I understood it, the data for each post/story is loaded on initial page load depending on your device display size. How I found it out? Go to a random post or image-type story, click F12, your window will resize a bit, click the device screen emulation button and choose something like "iPad Pro" and notice max image size that IG will give you. Now refresh the page still with the same emulated device (only works w/ "iPad Pro" for me idk why) and you'll get the source file in your "Network" tab with no scaling restrictions. Side note: if your image URL contains any part of this format: ".jpg?stp=dst-jpg_s150x150" (any `WIDTH x HEIGHT` dimensions), then a bigger quality of the image exists. In order to get source quality videos, you need to do the same as the images, but its a bit more tricky. Videos are coming in segments, which are also of different quality depending on screen size. Repeat everything above as the image method, but look into the Fetch/XHR requests tab. Do the following: Im currently writing a console app that will automate this process and I'll release it, if enough people are interested. As for IG bans, they seem to happen if you use your own profile to mass download content without the proper environment (chromium browser, working cookies, LS availability) , which 99% of projects on github don't have. Most of the projects on github are using the public API, which is really limited and just straight up ass, since you can't do much to private profiles that you follow. I like this script cuz i can just download the stories/posts that i really want. I haven't tested with profiles that are private cuz i don't have any to test on, but so far that worked great for everything else that i need. Click to expand... I actually saw this and it does work correctly, props to you. It does work with private profiles as well, yes.

I'm using to scrape an entire IG profile. You only need to be logged in to an IG account. No messing with cookies or configs at all. Once installed, go to the extension options and set your accounts download directory. Then, go to your IG profile of choice, and click the "Download All" button just below the username. It will create a folder in the directory set earlier and download all media there. Click to expand... +rep for this. it is still working and it lets you download individual posts as well. also, ive been using it with my main account. havent had any problems with it

Fyi, gallery-dl works fine as always, downloads everything including private accounts. You can search this thread for a guide on how to use it. Gallery-do is a great tool. As mentioned regarding not being able to download high quality videos on Instagram. Seems gallery-dl is also suffering the same fate as the developer doesn’t have a solution currently. I've recently noticed that a video I downloaded in the past (around January 30, 2025) using gallery-dl was in 1280p quality. You can create an account on desktop browser using an e-mail address. I suggest creating a new browser profile (through the profile manager) so they can't use your cookies/extensions/etc. to link it to your old banned accounts. Make sure you give that new profile at least two weeks of normal human use (literally, take 10mins a day to browse the explore page and interact with other accounts in a human manner) before you start using automated tools. I use , which currently has been working consistently for at least a year or two. But, I only download one by one. It's one click to get full res of stories, vids and pics. It does have an option to scrape the whole profile, but I never touch that for risk of getting banned. I've had main accounts get banned 2 or 3 times for using some kind of automation. And somehow, Meta always knows that a new account is you even if you think you have entirely fresh info.
